Why I Love Germanic New Medicine

I began studying Germanic New Medicine (GNM) in 2007, and it has become one of the most profound things I ever learned in my life.

Before learning GNM, I looked at the symptoms of illness and disease the way most people do. I thought the cause was often related to physical factors such as diet, germs, the environment, toxins, other outside influences, or heredity.

Then I came across a different way of looking at health.

Germanic New Medicine connects our emotional experiences, our brain, and our body. The starting point of GNM is the idea that a sudden, unexpected emotional shock can affect our health. This is an experience that happens when we do not see something coming, and we feel isolated while going through it.

One of the things that fascinates me most about GNM is how specific it is. According to GNM, specific emotional conflicts are connected with specific areas of the body and specific symptoms. This gives us clues that can help us look deeper into what may have happened in someone’s life before those symptoms began. What I find especially interesting is that GNM is not only about physical symptoms. It also looks at the connection between emotional experiences, the brain, and mental struggles.

I love GNM because it is logical. It makes so much common sense. It helps us see connections between what people experience emotionally, and what is happening in their bodies and minds. GNM taught me to ask a different question: “What happened in this person’s life before these symptoms began?” That simple question changed the way I look at health. Instead of seeing symptoms as random problems, I began to see them as important clues. According to GNM, symptoms can help us understand what emotional shock or life experience happened before they began.

I use what I have learned from GNM every day, both in my family, and in my work with clients. It helps us look deeper, recognize cause and effect, and make connections. This understanding and awareness, is where we get the “aha moments” that lead to meaningful change and positive results.
