Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Our local Cineplex closed its doors for the last time this spring. A sign of the economy, I guess. So to get more bang for our buck, our out-of-town escapades included a second movie. Spider-Man: Brand New Day. So there I was, watching another superhero movie for my kids.
We chose the D-BOX seats. I prefer these seats, even over 3-D, because I appreciate bringing in the kinesthetic. This reminds me of my NLP training where I learned the significance of being able to relate and understand people based on how they process the world. In Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), visual, auditory, auditory digital, and kinesthetic are the core sensory "representational systems". Kinesthetic means relating to the sensation of body movement, physical action, or hands-on learning. It comes from kinesthesia, the ability to feel and track how your body moves through space.
So it makes perfect sense, pun intended x3, that we would want the kinesthetic feeling to add to the movie experience. It reminded me of going on a ride at a theme park. I can imagine how much fun it was for the person programming the chairs to match the movie.
There was anticipatory clapping at the beginning of the movie and lots of applause at the end. All in all, a top notch superhero movie.

Oh my, yes. They say that repression is one of the biggest causes of chronic fatigue. When you have to spend your life trying to hide your inner beliefs, or trying to feel or believe what you don’t, in order to be who you’re told you should be, in order to fit in, in order to be safe, then it can take a toll.
